Celebrating global impact and local recognition in Norway!
We are thrilled to see the media spotlight shining on the incredible work happening in Norway following the Global Social Prescribing Impact Awards!
As reported in Kvinnheringen, Roger Ekeberg Henriksen and the Norwegian Red Cross team in Bergen were recognized globally for their outstanding work in establishing cross-sector social prescribing structures (sosial resept) that directly combat loneliness and social isolation.
In Roger’s own words following the award and local coverage: “Det er inspirerande!” (It is inspiring!)
By structurally bridging academic research, local healthcare networks, and community volunteers, the team in Norway has built a sustainable, scalable blueprint for how social prescribing can transform health equity and community connection on a national level.
Seeing this local story capture headlines reminds us of the core mission of the GSPA: Local action creates global inspiration.
A huge congratulations once again to Roger Ekeberg Henriksen, the Norwegian Red Cross, and all our partners in Norway driving person-centred care forward!
